The 2011 Mazda CX-7 lineup gains a new trim level. Otherwise, the smaller of Mazda’s two crossover SUVs is largely unchanged. CX-7 seats 5 and uses “i” and “s” prefixes, along with SV, Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring to denote trim levels.
The i SV and i Sport are joined for 2011 by the i Touring. All i models have front-wheel drive and are powered by a 161-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. The s Touring and s Grand Touring offer front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. They reprise their 244-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder and 6-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 pounds. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. A sunroof, automatic climate control, and rearview camera are optional on the Sport and Touring and standard on Grand Touring. Touring and Grand Touring have standard leather upholstery with heated front seats. Standard features exclusive to the Grand Touring are keyless access/engine start, a navigation system, and blind-spot alert.
